If somebody passed on a CREDIBLE STARGATE STORY ( not me ) would you do that ? Stargates were apparently " a thing " even prior to the 1994 movie & series based on it.
First of all, you just mentioned my favorite TV show of all time - SG-1. ;-)
Second, there is a "Stargate" program that the government ran, but it supposedly had more to do with ESP and astral projection, not portals through space and time. But that doesn't mean I haven't been keeping an eye out for it! With all of the alien and UFO information being admitted to today, the whole Stargate thing looks more and more like a documentary instead of Science Fiction! LOL!
DARPA did that remote sensing program& also A TON of other projects.
I enjoy material about aliens, etc., but I'm an open - minded skeptic about it for dozens of reasons, which I AIN'T going into now. Mainly, I'm not SURE if we're ready for contact yet.

Informative - & more than a tad SCARE - Inducing. It makes cocaine seem like brown sugar.
I do research into pharmacology, like lotuses, ancient fertility drugs, other pharmacopeia.
